Branding a hair & beauty studio filled with warmth and personality
Brand identity and collateral for a hair and beauty studio giving its identity the same warmth, craft, and intention that already lived inside its walls.
THE CHALLENGE
Nicole Jackson had been running Home Of for four years knowing something wasn’t right. She’d built something genuinely special — a private, co-working studio in East London where clients get unhurried, one-to-one care and independent stylists get a warm, professional space to call their own. The culture inside was clear, but her existing branding, in her own words: “Gross. Horrible typography and says nothing about the brand.”
There were real structural questions underneath too. Home Of served two distinct audiences — end clients and stylists renting space — and carried two identities: Home Of as the studio, and ColeJackson as Nicole’s personal practice. Neither relationship had been properly resolved. And with Nicole working towards a Clinical Trichology qualification, a third dimension was already on the horizon. The brand needed to hold all of it.
OUR APPROACH
Through a detailed discovery process, we found Home Of’s real point of difference: the 1-to-1 model. In a market that easily defaults into impersonal, Nicole had built a studio where every client works with one stylist, start to finish. We also resolved the architecture question: Home Of as the primary brand, with ColeJackson as a named presence within it, giving Nicole one brand to build without erasing her personal practice.
Home Of already had its character — the work was about giving it a language that matched. The cartouche key visual signals establishment over novelty; it’s a form with a long history in craft and trade, right for a studio that had been quietly doing excellent work for years.
Delivered under the Brand Intensive, the core output was a complete logo suite alongside a colour palette, typography system, brand guidelines.
Beyond the core, we added collateral that addressed real, immediate business needs like signage, and print collateral.
THE OUTCOME
Nicole now has a complete brand identity: a logo suite that works across every format, a considered colour and typography system, and collateral that does real work in the world. The brand guidelines give her the tools to use it consistently as the business grows, whether that’s into a larger studio, a new stylist joining the space, and eventually a trichology clinic operating alongside.
The process also gave her clarity she hadn’t expected. The project not only informed the immediate marketing choices but inspired Nicole to redecorate the studio interior — and that the brand had given her an exact vision of what that interior should look like. That’s the work doing more than it was asked to.
